Important Message from the Director - COVID 19

Braden Menzies, Director of  Real Estate Central

We have initiated the COVID-19 protocols for both our Property Management and Sale Department – so that we are remaining vigilant for the health and wellbeing of our staff, our highly valued clients and the greater Darwin community.

My principal role at this time is to keep informed and abreast of challenges in the property market for all of our landlords, tenants, vendors and buyers and look for any new initiatives introduced by our governing bodies. I meet with my advisors daily to brief me on any updates on government incentives, to look for any possible relief for my clients that are experiencing hardship at this time.

Most importantly, we are following the advice from the Government and relevant health authorities around containment and “flattening the curve” – with the strongest message being “stay home as much as you can, avoid any gathering, practice social distancing and if you are fortunate to be employed and the company permits, work from home”.  If we all follow the advice from the health experts, we can smash this COVID-19 together as a community – so that we can all get back on our feet and start employing those affected by these unprecedented conditions.

We have been working around the clock to keep as many Darwinians employed as possible, which has led me to making the decision to close the office down and have all of my staff, business partners and colleagues working from home – effective from Tuesday 31st March 2020 at 5.30pm. Our team have been given the necessary support to set their work-stations up at their homes and we will be utilising virtual space like zoom to meet as a group daily and our incoming phone lines will be diverted to our mobiles.

From a consumers perspective, if you call our office – the call will be answered, if you email us, your email will be responded to – our physical office will simply be converted to a virtual office.  Business as usual in these unusual economic times we find ourselves in. We encourage everyone to follow suit, reduce your business costs so that you can continue employing Darwinians, practice safe distancing and only request a face-to-face meeting with anyone inside or outside your business – if it is absolutely essential and a desired outcome has been agreed to before you attend.

Darwinians are a tough breed and I am still seeing optimism in our community – as the culture is firmly focused on looking after each other and focusing on a brighter tomorrow. We have experienced tough economic conditions before and survived and whilst the COVID-19 is an unprecedented environment, I know that our community will come out stronger than ever before.

Stay safe, stay well and take care of the most vulnerable, the elderly, the unemployed and those that are forced into financial hardship at this time.
